The German capital attracts people from all over the world. For many, the city's eventful history and energy-charged present exert a particular fascination. From the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag to the Berlin Wall memorial site – the city’s history can be experienced everywhere. Many a shopper’s dream will come true during a stroll along Friedrichstrasse, the exclusive avenue that is Kurfürstendamm or around the highly original Hackescher Markt. The city has something for everyone, from cool fashion labels to international luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and Valentino. Being one of Europe’s greenest cities, Berlin’s streets and avenues are lined with almost half a million trees. The city’s parks and green spaces are a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Berlin really blossoms in the spring and summer months, enchanting visitors with its charm. There is nothing better than getting away from it all on a boat trip down the Havel or Spree river, or taking a stroll through the huge Tiergarten park right in the heart of the city!
