Collection, Processing and Storage of Data

You can use our website without any personally-identifiable information being collected by us. The collection of personally-identifiable data is required to make and execute contracts, to open a customer account, or to make contact with visitBerlin. This data will be used solely for the purposes mentioned above unless we receive your express consent otherwise. The data will be used only to the extent necessary for the specific purpose, such as making, executing and invoicing of contracts. Once said purpose has been fulfilled, your data will be stored in compliance with tax and trade law requirements, but will be deleted after these periods.

A log file is created with every visit to our sites and every time a file is accessed. This data cannot be identified as belonging to specific individuals due to technical limitations. We do not merge or compare these data with other data sources; the anonymised data is deleted after being used for statistical evaluation. Each record consists of:

  • the site from which you requested the file;
  • the name of the file;
  • the date and time of the request;
  • the amount of data transferred;
  • the access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.);
  • a description of the type of web browser used;
  • the IP address.

IP addresses are encrypted and therefore give no indication of the user’s identity. Only the data needed to send the newsletter are stored.

The same applies to the revocation of consent to store your data. If you revoke your consent or request deletion of your data, your data will be deleted accordingly. This does not apply to data which must be retained according to statute or other contractual obligations.

You can always request information about the data we have stored about you and the personally-identifiable data we have disclosed to third parties and revoke consent previously granted. Please address your request to the address/email listed under “Information on Customer Rights and Contacts”.

In all other instances, your personally-identifiable data will not be disclosed to third parties except in those exceptional cases where we are required to do so by law or appropriate judicial or administrative order. If you receive advertising from Berlin Tourismus & Kongress GmbH or one of its cooperating partners despite having filed a revocation of consent to such use of your data, please contact us immediately. Sending of watchlist by mail

The mail address you enter in the address field is not saved on the server for the purposes of sending the Watchlist via e-mail.

 

Use of cookies
